It's the End of the Year 2022

Image
Now it's the last day of 2022. My 2022 has been really tough just like everybody else. I might have said that I regretted every decision I made this year, but it has given me a bunch of opportunities to boost my self-confidence and even met great people that would be helping my career in the future.  Just when I thought last 2021 that my governor days would come to an end in the 2022, I found myself applying for council. I laugh at myself for making this big decision. Not to mention, I was also appointed as our Alumni Batch President, and the Association Assistant Secretary, which I was soon appointed as the Secretary due to internal issues.  Yes, there was a lot on my plate this year. I cried multiple times because of stress and helplessness in dealing a problem.  I really hoped that 2023 would be a kind yet adventurous. I really hoped that whatever challenges that appeared in 2022 will be solved without burning bridges with one of my friends.  For my family, I only...

I Tried Getting a Pedicure at a Local Beauty Salon

Image
I am always skeptical about the beauty parlor services around Libertad area after my favorite Bong's Salon Libertad Branch closed down. In fact, I am not a fan of availing other services in small salons because sometimes their services cost a lot but the quality is very poor.  However, it became one of the things I want to cross out my bucketlist. So, I decided to go out for a bit and rush to Cinde's Beauty Salon which is just located in the corner across Palawan Express Pawnshop Libertad Branch.  They were almost closing when I came because it was already 5:00pm but they were very accomodating. I opt for a pedicure first but I ended up getting a manicure as well.  My fingernails, toenails and skin are very sensitive and they are easily cut or wounded if not very careful, but the nail technician whom I forgot to ask her name has the lightest hands. She knew almost instantly that my nails are as thin as paper and even suggested that I should rub garlic on it be...

Christmas Carol Medley by NCT Doyoung, Jaehyun & Jungwoo

Image
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas indeed. The trio that I only dreamed of singing together in one screen has finally appeared in reality and doing a Christmas carol! Who am I to complain? It took me awhile to push myself to watch this content because I missed them so much.  And again, they never disappoint. The trio performed J. Matthis' "It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas" being Jaehyun as the center of this piece. The man's deep and sultry voice felt like drinking a smooth hot chocolate drink in front of a fireplace in the middle of the night. Doyoung's and Jungwoo's voices were lighter compared to his, which made the harmony just perfect. Doyoung took the center spot when they performed Jeff Bernat's version of "Christmas Song". The "Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole is my personal favorite. This never gets old in my playlist and will always bring the kid in me. Jaehyun lead the first line and was soon follo...

What is the Weather like in Philippines during Christmas Season?

Image
Winter season is definitely not happening in the Philippines but Filipinos don't see it as a problem. As a Filipino, I am used to the daily hot weather in the country. Depending on the area, the temperature ranges from 30°c to 40°c. I am located in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental where the normal temperature only ranges from 29°c to 35°c every day, but of course, it rises up if it is summer.  The temperature usually drops at the beginning of September. It never goes higher than 32°c which I would simply say Christmas is coming ! The temperature gets lower and lower until it reaches December and people in my city will start to say "Sin-o naman nag bilin bukas ang ref man?"  or in English, 'Who left the fridge open?'.  Ukay-ukay or thrift shops are the go-to places of Filipinos when buying long sleeved shirts, jackets, scarfs, and pajamas for the Christmas holiday. Many foreigners would find it funny, but us, Filipinos, have lived our lives in a hot and human area a...

Random Question: If you had to move to another country, where would you move?

Image
If you had to move to another country, where would you move? I would like to move to Japan. I do believe that every country has its pros and cons but Japan has been my dream country every since I was a child. I used to receive balikbayan boxes filled with chocolates, coloring materials, clothes, and my favorite Japanese cup ramen! I always dreamed of living in a country with four different seasons.  Another question that I always love to answer: Where in Japan?  I consider myself both a country girl and a city girl. I want a place where I could enjoy fast internet speed, accessible places, safe and modern residence and at the same time, enjoy the picturesque view of mountains, gardens, temples, shrines with peace and serenity. I actually listed at least places where I could see myself living. Ishikawa, Japan Kyoto, Japan Fukuoka, Japan Kyoto is well known for its very traditional scenery of temples and shrines. Fukuoka is also known for its Canal City, where I could at least g...

Random Question: You've written a hit musical!

Question: You've written a hit musical! How will you avoid having fame go to your head? First of all, it would be an honor if ever I wrote a hit musical. It would be such a great achievement if that happens, especially, if my favorite artist performs my work. It would be a dream come true. I am the type who loves to work and gets contented by seeing others happy about my work. Fame? I am definitely sure, it is one of my concerns to begin with. If I did write a hit musical, I'd like to make use of the fame by promoting my other works and to receive constructive criticism to do better. Fame is only temporary, but it does open a lot opportunity for improvement! And, being famous is scary.

It's Days Before Christmas

I used to be so excited for Christmas and the New Year's day. However, this year, I haven't feel any excitement at all. I am pretty sure what had happened a few months ago have some strong influences to it. There was just too much to handle and it's making me hopeless and least expectant in good things. I have been working hard but I haven't felt anything that could make me say, "I'm happy." Being happy seems to much. This year, my financial flow has been up and coming. I have been spending a lot of time at school that at work. I thought if I was busy, I would earn a lot of money. I may have earned a lot of experience from people and learn from it, but it is making me lose credibility in most of my expenses. I wanted to do something that's earning me more than earning me less.  I hope before the end of this year, I could keep up with the debts or expenses I owe to people who have supported me because of my responsibilities.

Review: "WEDNESDAY"

Image
Netflix original series "Wednesday" has surpassed my level of expectations even before I reached the 8th episode. Wednesday has been my favorite character next to her mother, Morticia. I was a little bit doubtful about the new face of Wednesday since Christina Ricci has been the long time face of Wednesday and people have never grown tired of her. But, Jenna Ortega really gave out a different modern vibe that is actually relatable to many viewers.  I finished watching the series in one sitting and I couldn't stop wanting to know if there will be a season 2 of it. I am very sure there will be a season 2. There are so many loopholes or unanswered questions as to what those scenes mean. I do not want to spoil the story here on my blog, so I encourage everyone to watch Wednesday and enjoy the thrill, heartbreaking, tear-jerking friendship story between the outcasts. - Jay

NCT DREAM "DREAM IN A DREAM" Block Screening @ SM Bacolod Cinema

Image
Never in my life that I would be part of this amazing event in my city. I have never been to any concerts since I became a fan and will always dream of being part the cheerful crowd. Due to my insufficient balance in my bank account, I was unable to attend the recent concerts of NCT in the Philippines. Of course, I am terribly broken about it but what can I do?  However, the local NCTzen community announced that there will be a block screening of NCT Dream's Dream in a Dream Concert, I immediately grabbed this opportunity. I bought tickets for my sister and a male friend who is also an NCT fan. I mean, how can I skip this opportunity to see them on widescreen? The last time I enjoyed watching a show with people was during the SM Town Live in Tokyo and I couldn't get enough of the fun I had back then.  To be honest, I mainly focus on NCT127 but I tend to listen to NCT Dream's music a lot especially when I am traveling or studying. How can I skip it when NCT songs in general ...
