How Do I Manage my Time as a Full-time worker and a Full-time Student?
In today's blog, I'd like to share how I manage my time as a student and as a tutor.
I have been working as an ESL tutor for five years now, but in 2020, I decided to go back to school since I haven't finished my degree.
I know you may disagree about this, but I was kind of glad when the pandemic happened, because I get to do almost everything at home. As an introvert, I have more advantages.
So, I'd like to start from the most important thing: the schedules.
Be flexible.
Having a flexible work schedule is an advantage because you can adjust your work schedule with your class schedule.
I work more than 10 hours a day and most of my classes from the university only lasts 4 to 6 hours a day, not to mention that some teachers don't really hold lessons every day of the week.
Also, make sure that you have enough sleeping time because it's going to be a long day!
For example:
Work schedule: 8am - 12nn
Lunch: 12nn-1pm
University Class: 1pm-4pm
Then a 30-minute break for early dinner or nap time
Work Schedule: 5pm to 12mn
I know my schedule is a bit messy but that's how it is.
It changes every 3 weeks because of my university schedule.
I usually have every thing done on weekdays because I always take a holiday off on weekends.
As an adult, on-the-day plans from friends aren't healthy in your work schedule. So, whenever my friends invite for drinks, and it's on a weekday, I always go hard pass. If they understand you enough that you need to work to live, they would definitely adjust their schedules for you. But if they don't, don't blame them, okay?
Stay Healthy
Being healthy is also one of the important things. You can't keep a tight schedule if you are stressed and not in your great condition. I always make sure to take supplements to give me more energy and a sound mind.
Manage to Get Enough Sleep
I am a nocturnal so I tend to sleep somewhere around 2am. I can say that I always get enough sleep unless it's on Friday because my energy is at it's lowest point on that day. You have to make sure that your circadian rhythm is well tuned.
That's all I could think of!
I hope this helps! Thanks for reading!
